What is Botox?
Botox is a purified protein toxin, which is cosmetically used to help soften fine lines and wrinkles in the face. It is derived from the Botulism toxin and manufactured in very minute amounts for cosmetic purposes.

How Does Botox work?
Botox is injected into a muscle, which blocks the nerve impulses that prevents contraction of the muscle. The muscle weakens, and eventually the wrinkles in the skin gradually soften and often disappear.

Restylane gained FDA approval in December of 2003. Restylane administration helps enhance the fullness of lips and nasolabial folds (laugh lines). Other areas of the face include frown lines between the eyes and forehead lines.
